Spring Cleaning? Have a Groovy Time While Elevated

Cleaning doesn’t sound like fun for many, including myself. But all of a sudden, when the weather is nice, and the wind is whirling, I think about spring cleaning.

Clearing out the clutter, dusting off the shelves, putting your home back together again, making your space look new, this spring is all about fresh feels.

Thinking about how much work it is to clean? Me too.. the tradition of scrubbing, organizing, and finally discovering where all those missing socks went…well sometimes that can be a fun adventure.

But what if we told you cleaning could actually be fun? What if combining your cleaning routine with a little cannabis magic really could make it more enjoyable?
Well it could be, with the right balance, a little THC (or CBD, if that’s your thing) can actually turn a boring task into a relaxing, even enjoyable, experience.

So throw your cleaning outfit, pick up your mop, grab a gummy, and get ready for a spring-cleaning session that’s equal parts productive and groovy.

Cleaning Companions: Choosing the right strain for the task.

Slow your roll, choosing the right cannabis strain is like picking the right playlist—you wouldn’t blast heavy metal while meditating, would you? Here’s a great playlist for meditative cleaning 🙂

If you’re tackling the whole house and need energy, a sativa-dominant strain will keep you motivated. You might actually enjoy scrubbing the bathtub.

A mix of chill and focus, a balanced hybrid is perfect. You’ll still get things done, but you won’t feel like a zombie. Planning to unwind after your hard work? The term “happy hour” comes to mind when I think of relaxing after a busy day.

While your best buds are your go to for connection, indica is your best bud for a calm, chill night of meditation, yoga, reflection, reading, scrolling, or whatever it is you enjoy. Indica (famously described as “in da couch’) is best enjoyed when the job is done so you can melt into your spotless couch like a cleaning champion.

Sparking joy with pre-game cleaning plan prep

Before setting sail with your Cannabis Cleaning Companion, set up your cleaning station.

Get the goods, check off your list of cleaning supplies before chewing a gummy or drawing from a vape. The last thing you want is to be halfway through rolling a joint and realize you have zero paper towels.

You know what you need/want/like to use to clean, but here are a few ideas for newbies to cleaning… Yes, if you’ve never cleaned before, that’s OKAY! These are household staples to keep under the sink.

  • A good all-purpose cleaner (because spills will happen)
  • Microfiber cloths (fancy name for rags, but they work wonders)
  • A broom, mop, or vacuum (depending on how wild things got last night)
  • Trash bags (for all the mystery items you’ll find under the couch)
  • Music or a Podcast (because a silent clean is not a fun clean) and earbuds if co-existing with others.

Pro Tip: Turn cleaning into a game. Try to time yourself while vacuuming or count how many “WTF is this?” moments you have while decluttering.

De-clutter your space

Spring cleaning is like regular cleaning, except more focused on letting go to make space for what’s coming in the future.

As a former minimalist, (short lived), I decluttered my space with helpful ideas from The Minimalists. My favorite de-cluttering game from these guys is the 30-Day Minimalism Game – which I played with friends a few years ago. Go here to learn more about it.

Books like Marie Kondo’s The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying up have helped me learn to love getting organized. (But I have been an organizer way before this book came out.)

Courtney Carver designed Project 333 as a three-month challenge to reduce the amount of clothing, while finding joy in less unwanted clothing and more closet space.

Spring cleaning means getting rid of things you don’t need. If you haven’t used it in a year, you don’t need it. Make three piles:

  • Keep (because, duh)
  • Donate (someone else can rock that ugly sweater)
  • Toss (goodbye, mysterious lids with no matching containers)

Bonus Game: If you’re really elevated, try naming each item as you toss it.

Example: “Farewell, Kevin the Broken Toaster.”

Ever get the urge to clean out your closet but then stop because it’s too much work?

That’s where cannabis comes in. Put on your favorite music, take a puff, and channel your inner Marie Kondo. If it doesn’t spark joy, it goes.

If you find an old high school hoodie and it still fits, congratulations—you now have a new favorite cleaning outfit.

We all have that one condiment that expired two years ago but somehow still lives in the fridge. Time to say goodbye. Wipe down shelves, organize your snacks, and maybe even stock up on munchies.

Reward yourself with a well-earned snack break—just don’t forget you’re mid-cleaning and end up binging an entire season of The Office.

When was the last time you actually cleaned your windows? Exactly. A quick spritz and wipe can make your home instantly look better. Plus, sparkling mirrors mean better selfies.

Ever notice how amazing your house smells after a deep clean?

Take it up a notch with:

  • Essential oils (lavender, citrus, or mint)
  • Incense or candles (because vibe matters)
  • A fresh new strain in your stash (because reward time is coming)

Collect cannabis and celebrate

Once your house is sparkling, it’s time for real fun.

Here are a few ways to celebrate post-cleaning:

Movie Marathon – Watch something ridiculous (Movie recommendations here.)

Dance Party – Blast your favorite tunes and groove in your spotless space

Sure, cleaning isn’t usually at the top of anyone’s “favorite activities” list, but with the right mindset—and the right strain—it can actually be enjoyable.

So next time you look around and think, ugh, I need to clean, grab your favorite IndaCloud product, put on a killer playlist, and turn that chore into an adventure.

Happy cleaning, and stay lifted!
